PADLive

PADLive is a program that allows one to quickly and easily enter messages that can be sent out to any destination.

PADLive can be run from any workstation that has network connectivity to the main PADapult application. PADLive can be used by News Directors for sending Amber Alerts or breaking Weather information. Music and Program directors can use PADLive for content related updates or contesting.

PADLive allows for a user to enter a text string into either the Title or Artist field. This information will be displayed in the associated field on the receiving unit.

PADLive also allows one to set a Priority for the message to be sent.

High Priority messages will be sent to the Destination and will remain as the current message display.

A High Priority message will be cleared when the next PAD data associated with an audio cut is sent. For example, when an audio cuts PAD data is sent followed by a High Priority message, one would have PAD data, then PADLive messages until the next PAD data string is sent.

Medium Priority messages will rotate equally with PAD data and Scheduled Messages. In this case, one would have PAD data and Scheduled Messages (if scheduled) followed by the PADLive Medium message. All messages would then repeat again until the next song plays.

Low Priority message are only sent once. This message would only be displayed briefly between the rotating PAD data and Scheduled Messages.

Setting up PADLive

PADLive has it's own folder within the C:\DAD\PADapult directory. One can copy this folder to any other workstation, allowing that machine to send messages to the main PADapult application.

Administrators can create a unique directory name if desired allowing them to run multiple copies of PADLive on one workstation.

Pressing CONFIG will open the PADLive.INI file.

This file can be configured to talk to PADapult along with what fields will be used.

Contents of the PADLive.INI file are as follows:

Line Option Value Example Definitions
[GENERAL]
PADapult IP Address 127.0.0.1 IP Address of the workstation running the PADapult application.
PADapult Port 2005 Port used to talk to PADapult. The port is defined in the PADapult.INI via the line UDPPort under the [AUTO INFO] section.

NOTE: PADLive uses the XML_UDP mode and will only work when PADapult is in that mode.

Label ENCO OnAIR-FM One can enter a Label for PADLive for easier identification when running multiple copies.
