ENCO Systems and NPR® Announce First Shipments
of ContentDepot® Compliant Automation
Systems
NPR’s roll out of the ContentDepot®
third generation Public Radio Satellite System, replaces multi-channel,
real-time audio feeds with Internet-protocol streams and file transfer of
programs. NPR and ENCO have begun
delivery of basic automation to interconnected public radio stations that
either currently do not have an automation system or that have a system that
cannot be made compliant with ContentDepot. ContentDepot shipments include ENCO
Systems' DADpro32 software and ENCO-built automation hardware. The initial
shipments will reach over 100 qualifying public radio stations by June 2005.
"With the help of our partners
like ENCO, the roll out of the ContentDepot is going to be a very exciting time
for public radio" said Pete Loewenstein, NPR's Vice President for
Distribution. “We expect to complete the transition to ContentDepot by fall
2005. By providing ENCO's DADpro32 system to qualifying stations, we know
they'll have the automation and audio delivery tools necessary to implement ContentDepot."
