Version: 10.0a (will be updating this week to 10.0d).

When we built a new production studio a KVM extender was used to relocate the DAD work station control. I also wanted to installed an external USB CD drive for ripping.

I have tried both a USB extension hub, and a USB via network print/storage server.

Both are seen by Windows. I can rip and burn with Windows Media Player, and other utilities. DAD's ripper does not does not recognize the USB or network CD drive.

We are currently ripping CD tracks to wav files, and then using DropBox to compress and inject the cut into the library.

Is there a way to support external devices with DAD?

We've done tests (and just did some more to confirm) using USB CD-RW drives directly with DAD and everything was just fine.

There is perhaps some specific issues with your hardware/driver set that is unusual/different that needs some tweaking or may be unsupportable.

As everything in DAD's new CD Ripper is auto-detected - I suggest you start a support incident that may help determine what's different about your conditions - or perhaps find out more about what hardware we used and designed around.
