Managing your Station's Sound with PADapult
Chances are you are currently using PADapult for metadata handling. Even if you are sending ‘now playing’ data to an RDS encoder, HD Importer, web radio stream, and a logging application, you still may not be getting the most out of PADapult. You could be using the same PADapult you are familiar with to control certain broadcast processors.
Most modern-day broadcast processors allow remote control from your computers web browser. If this is the case with your processor, you could easily use PADapult to do the same with the added functionality of switching parameters based upon the current cut.
To do this, your processor should support the HTTP GET method for remote control of the processors parameters and your PADapult machine should be on the same network as your processor. You can create a new destination in PADapult and designate it to use the HTTP GET method. Next, setup your group formats to apply different presets to the processor or adjust certain parameters. You will need to look at the web based control panel for your processor to know what syntax can be used, as this is specific to the make and model of the processor. Once this is set, your processor should update when a new cut is played from a specified group.
