Lessons from DAD: Mass Change

If you find yourself needing to make changes to a range of cuts in your library, you might want to try the Mass Change function in the DAD Library. To make a change to a number of cuts, select the cuts to modify and select ‘Mass Change’ from the context menu. The menu will present a handful of fields that can be modified en masse. One key feature of the Mass Change function is that it does not require the cuts to be sequentially numbered, the cuts you are changing can be independently selected (using the Ctrl key) or you can select multiple contiguous files (using the Shift key).

If the field you wish to modify is not present, it can be simply added to the masschange.ini, a configuration file that allows the user to specify which fields can and should not be modified in this manner.

While the Mass Change function can be incredibly helpful in many scenarios, there are other ways to quickly and easily modify your library cuts. To find the method that best suits your station’s particular needs, contact ENCO Systems support department at (248) 827-4440 option 2.
