Lessons from DAD: Multitrack Editing

Editing can be done, not only within the DAD Editor, but also with the familiar interfaces of Adobe Audition and Hindenburg Broadcaster. The Multitrack button, added to the DAD library in version 14.0d, allows the user to edit the selected cut in the third party digital audio workstation. The Multitrack integration allows users to set cues, edit audio, apply effects and equalization, and automate volume envelopes.

To harness this feature, you must first be running DAD and either Adobe Audition or Hindenburg Broadcaster. The necessary files are located in C:DADProgsMultitrack. For assistance with the setup, please call ENCO Systems Technical Support at (248) 827-4440 and select option 2.

If you prefer to use the DAD Editor for setting cues, you may have noticed the ‘Test Segue’ button that is available when editing segue head and tail. When pressed, this button will demonstrate the current segue by transitioning from the tail of the cut to the head. This allows a user to preview the transition without leaving the DAD Editor.

For more information about either of the above features, contact ENCO Systems Technical Support at (248) 827-4440 and select option 2.
