ENCO Announces Support for HD Radio iTunes Tagging

Southfield, Michigan, March 26, 2008: ENCO Systems Inc., a leading worldwide provider of Digital AudioDelivery Systems, announced support for iTunes Tagging for HD Radio to be added to their DAD DigitalAudio Delivery system.

Eugene Novacek, President of ENCO Systems said, “We’re pleased to announce that ENCO will incorporate the iTunes Tagging capability into our existing DAD product at no additional charge to our broadcast client base. We believe that this new opportunity for broadcasters to monetize their HD Radio content provides a great way to enhance their business and we want to support our broad client base in this endeavor. Further, we think that iTunes Tagging should be free from monthly service charges and fees…and with DAD, it is!”

The iTunes Tagging technology allows listeners to tag songs they like that are broadcast by HD Radio stations. Information about these tagged songs is stored by the receiver and transferred to the listeners’iPod. When they connect their iPod to their computer, iTunes automatically presents the songs in a newTagged playlist so they can preview, buy, and download them. Radio broadcasters can share in the revenue derived from song purchases made by their listeners.

ENCO’s implementation will be delivered in an upcoming release of DAD and be supported in an upcoming release of PADapult, ENCO’s multipurpose real-time data delivery engine.

HD Radios equipped with iTunes Tagging are currently available from manufacturers such as JBL and Polk. Other iTunes Tagging enabled radios were recently introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Apple, the Apple logo, iPod, iTunes, and Mac are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. HD RadioTM is a proprietary trademark of iBiquity Digital Corp.
