ENCO Boosts Leadership Position in Captioning and Translation Innovations

USA: ENCO heads into IBC2025 with global momentum around its mission to make captions and translations accessible and available to international viewers and audiences worldwide. At its IBC stand (8.C76), ENCO will present its full range of award-winning enCaption and enTranslate solutions for broadcast and live events, including the international debut of its enTranslate Mobile for real-time, personal content translations in public spaces.

ENCO has developed its enTranslate platform to perform real-time, automated translations of live broadcasts and streams, VOD assets and presentations in cooperation with the fast, accurate captioning performance of enCaption solutions. Over time, ENCO has strengthened enTranslate’s leadership position in multilingual dexterity by consistently adding support for new languages both on-prem and in cloud. That capability will be live in several on-booth demonstrations, including an enTranslate Mobile demo that invites attendees to scan QR codes to access the platform’s Language Selector on their mobile devices. Once prompted, users can choose from several languages via the Language Selector menu.

Visitors to ENCO’s stand will also see a live demonstration of enCaption’s new speaker identification feature, debuting internationally at IBC2025. The dynamic AI voice fingerprinting solution detects and identifies each speaker with more than one contributor, including broadcasts with large panels (talk shows) or multiple commentators (sports). The technology’s AI-powered functionality is powered through a single-stream audio mix that dynamically identifies each speaker in real time upon analyzing the pitch, timber, accent and speaking style of each participant.

Visitors can also witness how enCaption feeds live captions into virtual production environments, as this year marks the IBC debut of a live Qimera virtual production set on the stand. The on-booth Qimera experience will include green-screen technology with 3D multi-camera tracking, PTZ camera integration, 3D graphics assets and real-time data feeds (including captions) that can be composited along with live camera feeds.

“We are also excited to demonstrate our latest achievements with live captions and language translations in broadcasts and streaming events worldwide,” said Ken Frommert, President, ENCO. “Working collaboratively, enCaption and enTranslate have set a new standard in readability and comprehension for the hard of hearing and/or non-native speakers in any environment, including active and noisy spaces.”

IBC2025 runs September 12-15 at the RAI Amsterdam.

Founded in 1983, ENCO pioneered the use of computer-based, digital audio and program automation for radio stations and TV studios. The company has since evolved its award-winning product line to span all aspects of today’s automated broadcast and production workflows, including closed and open captioning, automated live translation, AI production toolsets, live virtual production, visual radio, audio compliance, instant media playout, remote contribution, and cloud-based web streaming. It also brings the benefits of its patented captioning and live audio/video playout innovations to professional AV environments including
