Marathon Technologies to Provide Fault Tolerance for Award Winning Radio Automation System

Marathon’s everRun MX provides fault tolerance that ensures zero downtime and zero data-loss for ENCO Systems newly launched ENCO1Virtualized Automation System – recent winner of Radio World’s “Cool Stuff” Award.

Littleton, MA and Southfield, MI – June 25, 2012 – Marathon Technologies, the leading provider and innovator of application availability solutions and ENCO Systems, a world leader in audio playout and automation system solutions for demanding radio and television organizations worldwide, today announced that ever Run MX has been selected as the redundancy and fault tolerant solution for ENCO Systems’ award winning ENCO1 virtualized automation system.

ENCO1 is a drastic departure from the traditional model used by broadcasting facilities for automation system design and integration. It allows broadcasters to take advantage of all the benefits of operating their automation system in a virtualized environment by utilizing existing IP Audio technologies in a pair of specialized servers. ENCO1 simplifies deployment, increases efficiency, lowers operating costs, and now with eveRun MX, offers high availability as the risks of downtime are eliminated.

“Driving efficiencies inside our radio partner’s facilities through consolidation and resource sharing is an important benefit of ENCO1,” said Ken Frommert, Director of Marketing and International Sales from ENCO Systems. “Integrating with Marathon everRun MX to achieve ‘no single point of failure’ completes this innovative solution.”

Marathon’s everRun MX is the world’s first software-based, fault tolerance solution that supports single and Symmetric multi-processor and multi-core Microsoft applications. In addition to the core capabilities and benefits of everRun MX, radio and broadcast companies can take full advantage of everRun’s SplitSite®feature. SplitSite delivers true disaster resilience by maintaining application availability between systems located in different, independent sites. If disaster strikes one data center, applications and data are available, up-to-date and fully operational at the other location – also with zero downtime and zero data loss.

“ENCO has a long history of being the first to bring exciting new products to the radio IT industry,” said Matt Wrabley, Vice President of Business Development from Marathon Technologies.”ENCO1 is another example of this and we are pleased that everRun MX has been chosen as their redundancy and fault tolerant solution.”
