Live Captioning in the Courtroom

Automated live captioning and transcription

ENCO's enCaption is an artificial intelligence-based advanced Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) system designed to generate transcripts and television captions from live dialogs in real-time, the same as traditional human captioners but at a fraction of the cost, with significant increases in convenience and reduced complexity

How to comply with regulations and serve the deaf and hard-of-hearing community?

Real-time, live captioning is required to meet government regulations and serve your deaf and hard-of-hearing community. However, traditional captioning services provided by professional transcribers can be prohibitively expensive, difficult to schedule, and unreliable. And many automated solutions can be inaccurate and difficult to deploy. ENCO’s enCaption is a fully on-prem, cost-effective solution that is simple to deploy and ready to go 24/7.

Automated Accurate Captions with enCaption

ENCO’s software-defined enCaption enables courtrooms to deliver cost-effective, highly accurate, live captions automatically on an as-needed basis both in the room and online. enCaption can output both open and closed captions for existing video in the courtroom or for streaming while sending caption text to web browsers accessible from platforms as varied as large-format video displays (“CART”), desktop computer screens, smart devices, and even to public or private websites.

Easy to Deploy

enCaption is incredibly capable: it can deliver open captions onto existing video for in-room display while also controlling an external SDI closed caption embedder you already have or optionally embed closed captions itself into SDI, all while saving transcripts and sidecar files for later video editing and online hearing databases.

Our on-premise solution means no internet is needed with no Cloud connections to fail - and because it's computerized and automated, it can caption 24/7, without ever taking a break - this means it's always online and ready to caption, whenever you need it.

enCaption flexes to meet your operation’s specific needs, with Cloud solutions available, along with hybrid on-premise/cloud options.

No Training Required, Improves Over Time

Out of the box, enCaption is incredibly accurate and fast. Add your special terminology, individual names and acronyms (via automated ingest and/or manually) and it gets even better. Further, it’s raw speech-to-text capability is augmented by its statistical analysis feature, dialing-in accuracy even further. special words can be added before each hearing or deposition, by copying them into enCaption’s Word Libraries as simple text files. Words enCaption already knows are simply disregarded, and the new ones are kept for reference as directed.
